My name is Sally and I am the author, discoverer, painter, polisher, etc..behind the shop and this blog. I am a big fan of interior design, with a particular interest in vintage furniture and accessories and the instant charm they can bring to a home. I am also a recent transplant from the deep south (New Orleans) to what sometimes feels like the furthest reaches of the north (Boston). Besides the shock of New England weather, the most surprising discovery for me has been the abundance of high-quality, authentic vintage goods. The flea markets, estate sales and thrift stores of New England are unlike any I have encountered before - the treasures are just waiting to be discovered! So, what was once a passing interest, soon became a passion. I know many, many people share my appreciation and desire for vintage items, but they often do not share my perseverance and patience for the "hunt" and the refurbishing process. My hope is that the Shop is a trusted resource for those people and a way for me to share the best of what I find and do.
